The European Council has adopted the Conclusions on Scientific Information in the Digital Age: Access, Dissemination and Preservation. This is a major politically supportive statement from the Council to the European Commission, and good news for the OA advocates, since one of the steps states that the EC should: "...experiment with open access to scientific data and publications resulting from projects funded by the EU Research Framework Programmes in order to assess the appropriateness of adopting specific contractual requirements..."
